Baby You Can Drive My Car

The other day in the car, Elliot says: Mom, you sure are a good driver.

Me: Thanks. I try and keep us safe.

Elliot: But sometimes you get pulled over.

Will I never live that down?

Yesterday he said he wishes he was tall enough to drive (he is currently three years old). I told him some day he would be tall enough to learn how to drive. He explained that he already knows all the rules and proceeded to list them for me:

1) Try not to crash.
2) Don't get pulled over.
3) Honk at people in your way.
4) Watch out for trees about to fall on your car.
5) Turn into your driveway and don't crash into your house.
6) Don't crash into your cellar door.
7) Don't go near traps.
8) Don't break your steering wheel off.
9) Don't break your window out with your steering wheel.
10) Don't drive on trails, only roads.

Fortunately, he has 13 more years to study for the test.

You have to admit that those are pretty good rules. I especially like #3. Rob doesn't like me using the horn.

That is darling. What a smart little guy, a little more study and I think he'll have down the most important points.
