Fungus Amongus Again

No, this isn't a follow up to Elliot's diaper rash, though it looks like it may be making a return appearance. This post is dedicated to the freaky fungi flowering profusely in Fairyland. I'd always wondered why mushrooms are sometimes called toadstools, or why little gnomes are pictured sitting near or on a mushroom.

Since moving to FairyLand, I've discovered the answer. Mushrooms reach enormous proportions around here and come in an amazing array of colors, shapes and sizes.

It got so bad that as I'd drive to pick Ethan up at the bus stop, I nearly ran off the road for looking at 'shrooms.

So finally, I brought my camera with me and for a week my boys and I stopped wherever we could to photograph mushrooms in all their Fairyland varieties.

This one popped right up out of the driveway. I thought I ought to photograph it before it got squished.

I've posted a mere fraction of the photos I've collected. Let me know if you want to see more and I'll send you an album or something.

I've gone a little mushy over mushrooms . . . but you gotta admit, they're pretty cool little critters.

Those are really cool. And from what I can tell from the pics, they look pretty big!
